Our church in the Filostro neighborhood of Anápolis purchased this lot last year in hopes of building their own building. Filostro is an extremely needy neighborhood and a permanant facility would show the people who live there that Rio de Vida is there to stay and that we are there to be a blessing in their lives.
Church members worked hard raising funds by selling dinners and home crafted items. Each one understands that he or she has a part in the future of this body and its destiny for the Kingdom.
When I visited in early December, I saw that they had taken ahold of the challenge and were moving forward in fufilling that destiny.
With great (and deserved) pride, Pr. André showed me around the construction site. His desire is to begin holding services by late February in the new building.
Right now they are in the middle of the rainy season which has slowed them down and they need some more funds but we believe in His provision and that next month there will be a big celebration in Filostro.
